From 1964 to 1996, Curator of New World Archaeology at ROM, Toronto, and  from 1996 to 1999 Vice President for Collections and Research at the museum. One of the leading Mesoamerican archaeologists. Excavated at Altun Ha, Lamanai, Marco Gonzalez, and other surface sites as well as caves in Belize. Currently working in Belize and Cuba and living in London, England.

A major publication: Excavations at Altun Ha, Belize, 1964-1970, Vols 1, 2 and 3, 1979, 1982, and 1990, Toronto, Royal Ontario Museum.
