| Dr. Mikael Haller is an Assistant Professor in Anthropology at St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia. His research interests focus on a comparative approach to studying the emergence and development of complex societies with methodological specialties in quantitative methods and computer applications to archaeology (GIS/CAD), settlement patterns and household archaeology. Dr. Haller has worked in Mesoamerica and Lower Central America and, currently, with SSHRC funding, he is continuing his doctoral research through an investigation of social change in Central Panama.
