A former Canadian ambassador to Mexico. Archaeological specialization, iconography of Teotihuacan. He is the founding director of the Canadian Society for Mesoamerican Studies, its first secretary; a very active scholar in the field. This image, the Society Logo, is one of his drawings. It represents an owl with crossed spears and a shield, one of many references to militarism found in the surviving fragments of art at Teotihaucan.
